About Mrs. Bethany

Maya Bethany joined the Lindale Independent School District in May 2009 as the district's communications specialist and executive director of the Lindale ISD Education Foundation.  Mrs. Bethany is a former television news and sports reporter/anchor.  During her days in television, Mrs. Bethany won several Texas Associated Press Broadcasters awards, was nominated for two Emmy awards and was the winner of the Excellence in My Market Award from the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.  In 2011, Mrs. Bethany was named the Texas Schools Public Relations Association's "Rookie of the Year."

Mrs. Bethany is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.  She attended South Garland High School in Garland, Texas.
