School Board of the Year


The mission of the Lindale Independent School District, together with families and community members, is to empower and inspire students to be lifelong learners, leaders of tomorrow and responsible citizens while supporting the commonly recognized, traditional, moral values and ethics of the Lindale community.  

LISD Board President, Mike Combs

Mr. Combs was elected to the LISD board in 2006. He is married to his wife Rachel Combs of 39 years. He has two sons who are both LISD graduates and reside in Lindale Texas. Mr Combs recently retired from Target Corp after 25 years. He is the owner/manager of Combs Complete Lawn Care L.L.C here in Lindale, Texas. Mr. Combs has served on the advisory board for the Boys and Girls Club of Lindale, Penny Lane HOA Officers and currently is a Director of the Penny Lane HOA, Mr Combs also serves on the TIF Board. Mr Combs and his family are active members of First Baptist Church where he serves as Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee.

LISD Board Vice-President, Robert McGee

Robert McGee and his wife of 20+ years have two children in the school district, and are very active within the Lindale community. McGee is a 1993 graduate of UT Tyler and has lived in the Lindale community since 1995. He is currently employed with the ETMC IT Department as a software developer and also owns the local business, Hideaway Storage. McGee is a member of the Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Self Storage Association, and the First Baptist Church of Lindale serving in a variety of leadership roles. He is also active with the Lindale Baseball and Softball Association as a coach and volunteer. In the past, McGee has served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader in Lindale.

LISD Board Member, Kelly Cox

Mr. Cox was elected to the board of trustees in 2011. He and his wife Jennifer have two children and have lived in the district since 2002. They are members of Hideaway Community Church. Mr. Cox holds a Masters Degree of Science from Texas Tech and The University of Texas at Tyler. He has served his community on Federal, State, County, and Local levels.

LISD Board Member, Gary Camp

Gary Camp is a 1975 graduate of Lindale High School and a 1979 alumni of UT Tyler. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Susan Melvin Camp, who was also Miss LHS and Valedictorian of the 1976 graduating class. Together they have three children, Jennifer and her husband Jeremy, Jessica and Casey. They also have three grandchildren, Ava, Drew and Presley. Camp is the managing partner at Camp Financial Services, LLC. He has been a CPA and investment advisor in the Lindale community since 1981. Camp has been a member of First Baptist church since 1979, and has taught Sunday School there for the past 30 years. 

LISD Board Secretary, Donny Williams                                                                                                      

Donny Williams joined the Lindale ISD school board in May 2015 in the Place Six position. 

This is his first term as a trustee of the LISD.  



LISD Board Member, Kenneth Cline

Kenneth Cline is serving his third term as an LISD trustee. Mr. Cline is a graduate of Lindale High School and attended college at Tyler Junior College, Texas  Tech University and Lousiana State University.  Mr. Cline holds an associates degree of arts and engineering and has his own firm, Kenneth W. Cline Consulting Engineer.  He is a member of the ASCE, Red Springs Cemeterary Association (President), Red Springs Baptist Church (Chairman of Deacons) and the Smith County District Brotherhood (President).  He and his wife Carol have three children and 10 grandchildren.


LISD Board Member, Brooks Beeler

Brooks Beeler is serving on the Lindale ISD Board of Trustees for his second term.  He is a 1989 graduate of Lindale ISD.  He went on to graduate from Tyler Junior College with an Associate of Arts Degree. Brooks has been married to his wife Melissa for 23 years and they have 4 children. One is a Lindale graduate who now attends TJC and the other 3 are still attending LISD. He is an account executive for a San Antonio-based computer hardware and software reseller and an owner in a family-owned business. They are members of FBC Lindale.
